Gran Fondo National Series Information
The Cheaha Challenge is an official 2026 Sena Gran Fondo National Series event. Riders participating in the Cheaha Challenge have the opportunity to earn Series Points and qualify for the 2026 USA Cycling Gran Fondo National Championship.
National Championship Qualification: Ultra, Century, and 84‑mile routes qualify. The 62‑mile route qualifies only for riders ages 14–16 and 70+.
Scoring for Gran Fondo National Series points at Cheaha Challenge will be determined by each rider’s overall Start‑to‑Finish time combined with their segment times. Age groups for scoring will follow Gran Fondo National Series age groups and may differ from Cheaha Challenge’s primary age categories.
Series Points calculations for GFNS Gran, Medio, and Piccolo placement will be as follows:
Gran Route = Ultra Route OR Century Route OR UCI Qualification Route OR 84‑mile Route
(3 Mile Climb segment time) + (Adam’s Gap segment time) = (competitive time for GFNS Gran Route placement and points)
Medio Route = 62‑mile Route
(Start-to-Finish time) + (3 Mile Climb segment time) = (competitive time for GFNS Medio Route placement and points)
Piccolo Route = 44‑mile Route
Route (Start-to-Finish time) = (competitive time for GFNS Piccolo Route placement and points)
