CHEAHA CHALLENGE
A BUTT-KICKING SERVED
WITH SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY
Touted as "the toughest ride in the South," the Cheaha Challenge's 102-mile
course boasts more than 7,400 feet of climbing, grades as steep as 15
percent,
and breathtaking views from Mount Cheaha, the highest point in Alabama. But
with one smiling volunteer for every two riders, you won't be out there
alone. The ride benefits efforts to extend the Chief Ladiga rail-trail to
Georgia's
Silver Comet Trail. Head into nearby Anniston the night before to chow down
at
the Noble Street food festival and watch the pros contest the Sunny King
Criterium.
